IIT JEE 2009 expected cutoff

IIT JEE 2009 exam held all across India today was given by lakhs of students. There have been mixed reports from students regarding the paper while some have called it tougher and lengthier than last year paper, the others have found it easy. Maths was certainly the toughest part and everyone agrees on that.

While last year’s cutoff for general category was 180 marks, this time it can shift either way as reports from students continue to come. You can check out the IIT JEE 2009 Solutions right here as they are being updated continuously. The expected cutoff for IIT JEE 2009 will be posted soon. As of now, I expect cutoff to remain the same as seats have increased while toughness level has also gone up marginally. This will be updated soon.

Hi I am from IIT Madras... good anlaysis...
I think 150 will be on safe side isnt it?? I think it ll be lower than that... What rank do u expect a guy who gets around 150??

i think 150 marks will definitely get you in the extended merit list..
but its difficult to get a rank in main list...
but you need not worry this is just an estimate

150 marks is way too low....
remember the subjective question will only be tough for those who dont prepare.
the competition for first 8000 seats is in between those who have prepared for the jee.
the expected cutoff should not go below 170.

ramadugu you will get a rank of about 60-80 in sc category, you would definitely get a seat in iit...
you can get lower branch in delhi kanpur or mumbai or a higher branch in roorkee or guwahati

as the keys of different institutions are differing...its creating a lot of confusion...on comparing my attempt with that of narayana my score is around 160...would this fetch me aseat in iit 2009,i belong to sc category....and would there be any separate cutoff marks for sc category or is it generalised

my marks as per the narayana college key is 180 i belong to SC CATEGORY FEMALE what would be my rank and can this marks fetch me a seat at Mumbai,Delhi and Kanpur in ECE/ any higher branch

last years cut off marks for sc students was 104..
so this time it wont be more than 110..
the paper was easy and according to me the cut off would be around 160-180....
don't worry about the individual subject cut off as it would be around 5 and 6 marks in each subject....

abul aala you are on the margin of the expected obc's cutoff...
youmight get the seat as there will be aditional 9% seat this year

You have great chances of getting a rank of under 1000 which means you can get mech, civil and electrical in either of the 2 iits
